Many variables. How bad it is, the surgeon's ability, the recovery and how it goes, the therapy and how well your bones are. All back surgeries are unique. Nobody has the same results. Just make sure you have someone do it that is good, someone that does it all day every day and is up on the newest techniques. I would get a teaching hospital in the area to recommend one that is working with them. Ask the people that you know, they may know someone or they may have had it done. Ask your Dr. when you have the x-rays and a Dr. make him give you percentages of his patients that went back to work or who didn't return. They can answer if you give them time. I had neck surgery and implants of disks. I am in pain 24/7. It took forever for them to find out my disks were crumbling....It has been Helll and I don't blame anyone...I blame them all for taking so long to find it and then I have to live with it. that is why I say...get the best that you can to do it for the best result possible and do all the rehab like they tell you and don't overdo it. I wish you well and Prayers are coming your way. Miss Mary
