My wife has a lumbar disc bulge. I believe between her 4th and 5th vertebrae. It is causing her back pain, and also pain in her legs because of pressure on her sciatic nerve. This has been going on for about 6 months. She has tried injections and NSAID’s. (Relefan) With little to no results.
The doctor she is going to is recommending microsurgery to correct the problem.
I’ve read on the internet that surgery is a last resort option for this type of problem.
We are going in to the doctor tomorrow to have a last Q&A prior to making the decision to have the surgery or not….can you give us a list of questions that we should ask the doctor to make sure we are fully informed about the risks / dangers involved in this type of surgery.
